Dar’s last day was yesterday and though i found it quite weird to have the last year in the middle of the week, we are still happy that it has ended.. Last day.. It was difficult for her and for me as well.. Though it was for a short period of 2 months, the friendship and attachment formed with the people there can’t be neglected and especially if they treated you damn well..
For me, I bought a cake and wrote cards for everyone in the department.. And the best part was there was an award ceremony during my last day and it seems like the whole company was there to bid farewell.. I must admit that my stint at Jones Lang LaSalle was very rewarding and I am happy that I could be there for my internship.. I think it is good that you appreciate people for what they did for you and it can really make them feel different.. Everyone was so happy when they look at the card that I wrote for them, though is was nothing special, it sure brought tears to their heart.. I left the place with a smile on my face and a tinge of sadness to leave.. (Shihui still own me some photos)
The only sad part was that I have to come up with the internship writeup for submission but I am sure there is no short of things to write as I have learn quite a bit and there is so much to share..
For Dar, being more IT-savvy in term of editing photos.. Did a photo collage for the people she worked with and send them a farewell email, with a personal touch to everyone’s comment.. Maybe I should start to learn how to use the program.. Anyone can see the difference in the photos that I post and the ones that post.. Mine is straight out of the camera while Dar’s photos seems so professionally done..
We wanted to have Korean food @ the restaurant in Heeren’s.. But it seems that it has been quite sometime since we go to town and we forgotten that Level 5 is under renovation.. Other than the NYDC cafe that is renowned for their bad service, there isn’t one food outlet there.. No wonder the place seems so desolate and empty..
We decide to try out luck at Cineleisure instead that choose to eat at Chicago Steakhouse.. I will post the photos soon after I get from Dar.. More importantly, it is their service and steak that interest me.. I am quite impressed by their service (although there are some negative feedbacks on their service).. Friendly staff that are proactive to ask you what you want.. Bring water and pass the menu to you even before you ask for them.. Serving with a smile.. That’s more like it..
Steak.. I think it is quite good actually.. I love medium rare steak and with that tinge of blood and meat juice.. That’s is the reason why people pay so much for them.. Without the blood and meat juice.. It would be just like some other piece of meat.. The simplicity of the steak makes it easier to taste the original flavour of the steak.. Unlike some restaurant that mask the flavour behind sauces that are overwhelming..
But the problem with the place is they are only good with steaks.. Rest of the food aren’t really nice.. Salad is quite roughly cut and the pieces are quite large for one to consume.. The soup ain’t that bad but it can be a bit thicker.. The seafood spaghetti is quite amateurishly done and ingredients are not fresh enough..
I really miss the times that Dar and me just spend the evening away walking down orchard.. It doesn’t really matter what we do.. What matters is who you are with.. To be someone that appreciate you for the things you do.. That is more important..
