My teeth.. The whole tooth is my upper left wisdom tooth and the pieces of tooth is my lower left wisdom tooth..
Had my extraction and surgery on Friday at 1:30pm.. Was supposed to be a 30-45 minute simple procedure but I finished everything at 5:00pm.. Total of 4.5 hrs.. What an agony..
Preparing for the procedure was quite simple.. I had to dress myself in head & shoes caps and surgery gown.. I had to wear them over what I have and i suppose they want to keep the place clean and free from dirt..
The nurse gave me a cup of milo as I didnt had time to eat my breakfast + lunch.. Not a good way to start the operation as I can’t eat for quite a long time..
Greeted by the doctor and he explain the risk of the surgery.. That there was a possibility of numbness at my chin, lips or tongue as the tooth is near the nerves.. There was around a 1% chance that this might be permanent.. After I sign on it, it was straight to the OR..
They had to wrap me up for the operation and cover my eyes to protect it from the bright light.. I suppose it was to not let me see the scary tools that they are going to stick into my mouth..
Ouch Ouch.. I took more than 20 shots to numb the affected area.. The pricking was not painful.. The pain comes when the liquid goes from the needle to my flesh.. The worst was the jab at the tongue.. I didnt expected so many shots and was quite overwhelmed by it.. I never did understand why people are afraid of jabs and now I know.. It was not that I am afraid of needles.. I was afraid of so many needles going inside me unexpectedly.. And at locations that made me felt so vulnerable..
But it did it’s job and I felt the numbness after a while..
And the operation on the lower wisdom tooth began..
The cutting up of the flash could not be felt.. But the cutting tool grinding on my tooth and the vibration travelling along my jaw to the skull could be felt.. As my tooth was in a weird position.. Other people’s tooth grows out straight but mine was growing flat.. Just imagine that a tooth lying down on its side.. The cut had to be longer and deeper.. The tool need to grind more.. The clamps need to grab more.. The repetition of procedures has made it quite irritating and painful at some point..
More jabs came along to numb me..
But it was quite useless.. The nerve was exposed and the jabs wont make the pain go away.. I will still feel the pain as the dentist try to pull out the fragments.. Along the way, the surgery had to stop as it was too painful to continue and my jaw start to tire out..
After a long hard fight.. I suppose it took around 3hrs.. The lower left wisdom tooth was finally out..
The upper left wisdom tooth was fast.. Around 10-15 seconds.. It was out..
Next was the stitching up..
It seems smooth as it was done in a jiffy..
I was to wait outside for my wound to stop bleeding before they allow me to discharge.. I had to bite on gauze to ensure that there was pressure on the wound and that it will clot..
I was the first one to go in.. First one to be out waiting..
A few other people sat down.. And they left..
I waited even longer..
Another batch of people sat down.. And they left too..
I had to change to a gauze laced with adrenaline.. This was suppose to aid in the clotting of blood.. But that didn’t work..
The nurse took another look at the wound and told me that I might need another stitching.. It seems that the original stitches could not hold the wound together.. By that time, I am beginning to feel pain at the wound and that was not good..
I had to enter the OR again and went through the pain of the multiple jabs.. This time, the stitching was tight this time.. It finally stopped the bleeding..
The doctor allowed me to leave, thats after I eat my medication.. Antibodies and painkillers..
First day was quite painful.. I could not sleep as the pain seems to be giving me a very painful headache.. Probably caused by the stitches..
Part of my chin, lips and gum is still numb.. Really hope that this is temporary..
Soft diet for me for the next few days.. I will try to stick to that..
I think I talk too much at Xue Mei’s Party.. Kinda feel the bruising coming up.. Argh..
My extraction was a special case.. Normal extraction should not hurt that much.. Highly recommend GA instead of LA.. Hate those jabs..

Buying of cloth..
Buying of notebook..
Measuring..
Cutting..
Sewing..
Machining..
Fitting..
This is the end result..
My belated 1 year anniversary present for Dar.. This project was started early.. Put off due to the tight timing and technical problem with the sewing machine.. I am quite amazed by myself that I am still able to remember things that I had learned in secondary school..
I know Dar like this fabric from Spotlight..
I know Dar like fancy notebook..
Just thought of making her something that she will use and it reminds her of me whenever she uses it..
Small in scale compared to BBB, but it is the thought that counts rite~~
Love you loads Dar..
Had to reach the airport damn freaking early in the morning as are talking the earliest flight out and latest flight back.. Had to make the trip worthwhile rite~~
Entertainment system was down and the only image we can see if our own reflections.. Kinda sucky as it was not exactly a short flight.. But there was lots of time for us to talk to each other and look out the small window at the beautiful clouds.. Word of advice, take the seats that are the nearest to the cockpit.. The seats at the end of the plane gets the most vibration and noise..
I was not exactly pleased by the service of Cathay, maybe because it was under the impression that lots of people find Cathay comparable to SQ.. The stewardess seems to be in hurry to get somewhere and was not as calm.. They resemble kan jiong spiders running around without their heads..:)
But I was quite impressed by the food.. First time i saw PORK on the menu.. Too used to the halal menu that they serve on flight that PORK seems so foreign to the flight menu..
Bus ride was not that long and we arrived at our hotel soonafter.. DORSETT SEAVIEW HOTEL at Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon.. Nice little place.. With little rooms.. Close to MTR.. With Xu Liu Shan across the road~~
Went for the night tour and first stop was to this restaurant.. Was supposed to have roast goose…. But due to the fact that I had not eaten goose before, the “goose” seems to taste so much like duck.. The food was not that bad..
We had to cross over to Hong Kong Island thru the underground tunnel to reach our 2nd Stop.. The Peak.. For the night scene of Hong Kong.. Quite a nice place to be.. With exception that there are lots of other tourists there and that place is packed..
We went to Madame Tussaud Wax Musuem on the Peak.. Fantastic place and the wax figures seems alive as it seems that their eyes are following you as you walk pass them.. Took tonnes of photos there and I am just too lazy to name them all.. Most should be quite easy to recognise as they look quite like the real person..
Photos of the mall at the Peak..
We went to the Avenue of stars.. Didnt take much photos there as we had missed the light show put up but the very buildings you sees across the water.. If i am not wrong.. It starts at 8pm daily..
We went for the open top bus tour.. nothing much as this was not like the usual tour bus.. The bus will drive around the area to see the streets of Mong Kok.. Notice the photo in the middle.. The infamous Portland Street.. But I wonder where was all the sights went to.. Maybe the government flush them all out..
Shopping was next of the list after we dropped off near Nu Ren Jie.. Had our share of esprit shopping.. But it was not that fantastic as the things they sell there are getting quite bad.. Had Smelly tofu.. The first time in HK.. As well as the last time.. We could not find other stall selling them.. Not forgetting KRISPY KREME Doughnuts.. FAV~~
2nd Day.. Shopping day~~
First stop was Langham place.. The one that Lily highly recommended.. A must go for everyone.. There’s this long long escalator that rumours has it that one has to go all the way up to the top of the escalator, if not they will have bad luck.. (I am not surprised that this was started by the mall management to get people to visit all the shops)
The way it was design was that the escalator will bring you to the top of this place called Spiral, designed according the the astrological signs and each level represent one sign..
Next was to Man Ji and our main aim was the Durian Pancake with the green skin.. (I suppose it look more like a durian)
Next was to Chi Ji for some food.. Famished from all the walking..
Xie Huang Zhou..
The food that we eat..
DO NOT ORDER THIS.. This is something like a fried fish ball with the small fishes on the outside.. The thing taste ok.. With a tinge of orange peel.. The worst is the sauce.. This stinky sauce with orange peel and small clams..
Went over to Sogo, that was next to Avenue of Stars.. Quite a small place.. What’s unique is the shopping centre is there is only one level that is above ground level but there is no shop.. Only the escalator entrance is above ground and most of the building is underground..
Back to Avenue of Stars and this time before 8pm to watch the show.. Was msging Lily on the possiblity of meeting her.. She was heading to Taiwan soon and time was tight, so we could not meet up.. Maybe next time~~
Back to Xu Liu Shan again~~ Can’t get enough of this place.. Yum Yum Mango Desserts~~
Headed to Tung Chung for our far far trip to Lautau Island..
On the MTR.. Quite a good way to travel around HK.. Especially during the day when traffic is quite bad..
Went up to Po Lian Temple on top of the hill.. Stupid couple on the bus nearly got all of us killed.. They were talking in Cantonese about how slow the bus was going and the driver can’t drive properly.. They were quite loud about it and half the bus heard what they said.. (including the driver) The driver drove faster and faster.. Till the point that we had to hold on tight or else we will be thrown off the seats.. Sometimes, people just dunno when to keep their mouth shut..
We arrive safely on top of the hill.. Everyone was gazing angrily at the couple.. They deserve it.. For not keeping their mouth shut and trying to test the limit of the bus..
Great view.. Except that the buddha kept disappearing behind the clouds.. We had vegetarian meal as well.. Not that fantastic and it cos quite a lot.. But the serving is HUGE..
Shopping at Tung Chung.. Shopping centre full of warehouse shops.. There are some great buys.. But due to the shopping season ongoing.. We are able to find similar deals elsewhere..
Some random place at Tsim Sha Tsui.. Wanton MEE again.. We still think it taste better in Singapore..
Argh.. Sweet Dynasty.. What a name.. What a place.. They serve great food.. Especially sweet food.. Love the bird nest porridge and the HUGE bucket of Tau Huay..
Day 4.. Had Dim Sum for breakfast.. Quite nice.. Cheap and good.. Love their DIM SUM~~
OCEAN PARK~~
There’s a panda santuary in the park.. Weird.. But nice.. First time i see pandas in person.. Lazy buggers.. Only thing they do is lie around and eat..
Cool Treat for the HOT HOT HOT HOT weather..

Nice view up the escalator..
Nice view from the top..
Aquarium.. Nice.. But too crowded.. Damn the PRCs.. I dun think they know what is the meaning of queuing and not banging into people.. Now i can see why the Hongkies are treating the PRCs like that.. They think that HK now belongs to China and they can convert HK into another China.. I may be generalising things too much but these are from the observation that I am getting during the trip.. I was so angry that they keep stepping on my slippers and knocking into me that I kicked one of them.. My brother went to knock into one of them.. Getting on my freaking nerve.. With the heat on.. Things are not getting better..
The Abyss.. Quite like the one at Genting Highland.. Freaky~~
The Dragon.. Loopy roller coaster.. The turns are sharp but the ending was not that good.. The mood died down after a while with all the excitment concentrated at the front of the ride..
FOOD~~ Expensive.. But in order to save time from queuing outside and get away from the heat.. The food was quite good actually.. My mum actually went to order something familiar.. Hainanese Chicken Rice.. They serve really great good and most of them are actually tastier than Sg..
Went to watch the show at Ocean Theatre.. Nice nice show.. Animals were well trained and there was even syncro swimming..
Went for dinner.. Wanted to taste how was their restaurant standards.. Quite ok only.. Maybe it was the choice of restaurant.. Definitely have to seek the advice of an Hongkie for this..
Went over to Fashion Street @ Causeway Bay.. Freaking nice place and they close damn late in the night.. Lots of attractive boutique shops and even if you don’t buy anything.. Do go there to get the feel of the place..
Xu Liu Shan again.. Yum Yum~~
We decided to parade our catch..
Last Day.. After a long morning walking around Central and especially at the HUGE H&M, we went back to Jordon for Steam Egg with Milk.. I LOVE H&M.. WHY ARE THEY NOT IN SINGAPORE.. CHEAP CHEAP PLACE.. LOTS OF VARIETY.. REASONABLE QUALITY.. WHY WHY WHY~~~~ Definitely a must visit when you go to HK..
The steam egg with milk or steam milk with egg is a must try.. It comes in 2 flavours.. Original and Almond.. I think the almond taste better.. Cos the original one is quite sweet.. More for those with sweet tooth..
We had to squeeze our shopping into the luggage when we reach our hotel and wait for the coach.. Nothing beats the aircon at the hotel.. Just when we need it..
Cam-whoring on the way to airport..
At the airport.. Wanted to buy Krispy Kream as there is an outlet here but unfortunately it is located at the arrival hall.. SuckSS~~ I think we might be spending too much time shopping and we did not have enough time for dinner.. Had to buy muffins to eat before we board..
WE SAW CHEN HAN WEI at the airport.. This was the 2nd time I saw him abroad.. 1st time was in Sydney.. He was with 3 other friends and it seems they are on their way back to SG as well.. Wonder if we are on the same flight..
Cam-whoring on the plane.. Before we had to switch it off..
This time.. The on flight entertainment system is working.. But the service was still the same.. I miss SQ..
We had to take cab back home and that was basically the end of our wonderful trip.. With lots of fun, food and shopping.. Though there were some unhappiness along the way but overall it was a good trip.. The trips really depends on who you are with and whether there are common things that you are looking for.. 3-4 person is a good size.. Not too big.. Not too small..
My lovely catch from HK.. I definitely didnt buy the most.. But there’s something that I will put in mind.. That is not to bring so much stuff over.. I can buy them in HK..:)
