I have been trying to video this for very very long time.. All the funny acts with the STAR

It is apparent that Singtel may have won the battle but they have lost the war..

Starhub is definitely better, with exception that they lost out on EPL for the next 3 years.. I signed up for Singtel MioTV as there was an offer from Singtel through a door to door Singtel promoter:

1) 1 year contract, free for 1/2 a year

2) Free installation of set-up box and cabling

3) Free channels for 1/2 a year

4) I can watch my channels live through an online account for free

For far, only I am only satisfied with 1).

For 2), the installation is rather crappy as the adhesive on the cable casings are not sticky at all. It is not reasonable for the casing to come off the wall within an hour of installation. I had to paste in on myself again and it came off soon after. It is so irritating that i gave up and let it hang there.

For 3), the channels disappeared and it was no longer free. This doesn’t bother me a lot as I am watching my starhub more often as their channels are way way better than Singtel. If Singtel wants to remain competitive, they got to do more than securing sports channels.

For 4), the person told me that I have to call singtel to activate the account and it is a free service. When I called them, they told me that my current set up box does not have the DVR function and I have to pay $30 for installation and $10 per month to watch it online. Which part of this sounds like it is free??

I explicitly told the person who did the registration for me that I want it and he told me that I just have to call Singtel to get it. Why the heck they still give me a set up box that does not have the function? Other than that, why do I have to pay $10 per month to get something that was supposed to be free?

When I called the hotline, Angie told me that the best they can do is to waive off the $30 installation fee. This is rather ridiculous as it is not that they “kindly” waive off, they are waiving off something that was not supposed to be there. Why should I pay for Singtel’s mistake??!?!

Angie said that she cant do anything for the $10 per month fee but she will direct the request to her managers, who so happens are not around in the office. I feel like strangling them.. I am not going to relent till they waive all what so ever fee that I am entitled to, as promised by the promoter.. This is clearly misrepresentation on their part..

What is so crucial for the DVR account is that you can only have one set up box per Singtel phone line. That’s the reason why it comes as a package for the phone line and Mio TV. This is unlike starhub where you just pay for the additional set up box and pay for the installation for the cable tv point. The only way I can watch it elsewhere is i subscribe to another Singtel phone line for minimum $5 per month and the additional set up box. This is why DVR is attractive as it allows me to watch over my computer or HP (as what the promoter said, but I dunno how true given the circumstances now).

I am still waiting for the manager to call me. If not they can be well assured that I will give them a earful.

This is one of those shows that I regretted before and after watching. Not many of us enjoyed the show either. I wasted 85 mins of my time watching something that is only better than Blair Witch Project.

From an economic point of view, ITS GREAT!!

But from a moviegoer point of view, SUCKS BIG TIME!! Perhaps the scare factor would be that it is something close to you and that it “might” happen to you (but seriously.. aint that apply to most of the horror movie??). I would classify this in the category of “for those people with acquired taste” and I am not in that category. Even Humpday (whatever that is) got a better rating than Paranormal Activity!!

There’s talks about having a sequel to Paranormal Activity….. Hmmm….. Once bitten, twice shy….. I am not going through this crap again!!

Ernest mentioned during the last lecture of RED on what will we remember about our batch, this sick kid is something that I will always remember (in a traumatic way). How the heck a BBQ evolve into a sick manifestation of his warp mind, where he seems to be more interested to see nude people.

The thought of whether is he being the email did cross my mind and it is quite hard to believe that someone would actually do this kind of shit. But on second thought, it might actually be him, perhaps thinking that we are playing around with the BBQ idea and he decides to play it back. But still, the fact that he said all these shit, doesn’t matter that he is serious or not, it is quite clear that there is something seriously wrong with him.

Can this constitute to sexual harassment? Is there anything that can be done?

Seriously…. I really think Singaporeans really love to complain….

The other time Shell gave a discount, people complained that the timing was too short, too inconvenient and many other reasons.. Now when Shell extended their fuel offer from 10am to 6pm, people complained AGAIN….

I heard that the average waiting time for getting in line for the fuel was about 30 to 45 minutes, varying from different Shell outlets…. Though I am an avid supporter of Shell, I didn’t think it was worthwhile for poppy and me to spend an hour waiting in line for cost saving of around $15-$20 (as my car was at 1/3 tank) when we both had hell of a lot of work to do….

Back to the topic of the complaining Singaporeans…. People who live near the outlets complained of noise, congestion and how it ruined their weekends….  My answer to that is MOVE OUT…. We have to learn to live with the environment that we are in…. It is not as if it is a daily thing and that it is affecting your whole way of life….

I am sure those drivers who got the savings are not the one who send it the letter to Straits Times Forum…. Apparently the one who sent in the letter have been a supporter of Shell and he was quite disappointed with Shell. We have to live with the fact that something like this will definitely attract a crowd and cause congestion. I must praise Shell for hiring axillary police officers to deal with the congestion and that was perhaps the best Shell could do…. But seriously, it will be quite silly to expect that there will be no congestion or queue…. I am sure the writer was quite pissed that he could not get into the queue for fuel and hate the fact that he has to face the congestion….

This is so similar to the things I had to deal with when I was doing my national service…. During briefings before the patrol team leave for their duties, the team leader will remind the team of “certain notorious residents”. These are the sort of people that will complain at everything that they see…. They will complain about students being noisy when they are in school (which is quite stupid as that is what you get for living next to a school). They would also complain about the mall being too bright, congested and noisy and how it affected his sleep. But seriously,  we do get such shit calls and we have no choice but to attend and “appease” them because the calls will just keep on coming….

Seriously, if they really like his peace and quiet, he is living at the wrong place as he should stay near places such as bukit timah or botanic garden, where he can enjoy the peace and quiet (with the occasional monkey screaming). Rather than making grumbles that will help nothing, perhaps it would be better if he put his head to better use on how to earn some dough and move to a quiet location….

Oh well, this is life.. There will be the normal people and there will be also the SHIT people who complain at anything they see….

After 2 sleepless nights, we finally got a chance to relax and went for out long awaited ice cream buffet:)

Queue was quite long and it took us a while before we could get our seats..

Oh my oh my….

There are so many choice of ice cream that we are familiar with and also new creations by swensen.. Slurp:)

But the best part would be having the opportunity to go out with poppy and take our minds off our busy schedules..

So glad that we went early as we were shock at the length of the queue.. I’m sure there is at least 50 queuing up for the buffet..

After some shopping, I could not take it as it felt that I can fall asleep while standing.. We decided to head home so I can have an early night..

I am suppose to be doing my literature review but I just cant seem to concentrate as in a few hours time, I will be leaving for Pulau Aur for my dive trip =)

From the pictures I have been seeing, Pulau Aur seems to be a great place to dive as the water are crystal clear, not like the milo water we have in Singapore.

Having kind of a mixed feelings to it. On one hand i am damn excited about diving down and see all the fascinating things underwater, on the other hand, i am being constantly reminded how unforgiving can the sea be.

Because of this trip, I am missing out on a lot of things, namely the photoshoot at Dar’s place, paintball with ODAC, Commex Fair and Ben and Jerry Chunk fest. But there is only this much time for this much activities. We cant possibly have everything that we want.

Hope that everything goes really well=)

This is really a struggle for me.

I can’t seem to find the kind of motivation I need to carry out what is need to be done. I chanced upon this website which help to identify what is impeding my progress.
